Precision Foods is a dry-blending and packaging food company specializing in providing finished products for customers in the foodservice, industrial and consumer products business. Formed in 1992 with the merger of Frostline Foods and Precision Pack Foods, PFI has experienced steady sales growth, both organically and through acquisitions. We are privately held by Muscatine Foods Corporation located in Muscatine, IA.
PFI excels in providing customized dry blend products to both restaurant chains and industrial accounts. Our customized products vary widely but generally are represented by the following categories: salad dressing mixes, frozen desserts, seasoning blends, stuffing mixes, seasoned rice, and sauces.
Unlike most custom dry blenders, PFI has a facility dedicated to sweet product production and one dedicated to savory product production. This assures our customers that no odor or flavor cross-contamination can occur.
Our highly skilled food scientists can duplicate an existing product in an effort to streamline production or reduce costs, or create a new formula to satisfy a menu need. Our service is unparalleled and proprietary formulations are kept completely confidential.
Packaging can also be customized, ranging from pre-printed film to a simple “bag in a box”. Our three production facilities feature vertical and horizontal packaging equipment, Clybourn boxing, bulk bag/boxes and super sack filling capability.
Although it began in 1992 with just the Frostline® brand, Precision Foods has over the years steadily increased its stable of quality branded foods for the foodservice industry. Today, we have products appropriate to every foodservice segment.
Established brands, such as Frostline, Mrs. Dash® and Thick-It®, enhance PFI’s credibility with both the foodservice distributor and operator.
The retail division of Precision Foods represents those products sold in supermarkets, club stores, mass merchandisers, e.g., WalMart, club stores and pharmacies. The Mrs. Wages® line of home canning products and dry salad dressing mixes, Orrington Farms® food bases, LAND O LAKES™ Cocoas and Cappuccinos, Southern Gourmet® no-cook fudge, Milani® bottled salad dressings and Dill Sauce are marketed to supermarkets, clubs and mass merchandisers, while Thick-It® instant food thickener and purees are sold through pharmacies.
